This emblem, was worn over the upper left sleeve of the uniform of nurses at the Alfred Hospital after they had passed their final exam. This item was owned by Leah Rosenthal who graduated in 1904Of significance to the AHNL as it part of an historical Alfred Hospital nurse's uniformRed fabric cross on a white armband. There are several small holes in the cross. On the left hand side of the armband there are three horizontal buttonholes in a vertical line. There are two similar buttonholes at the right hand side of the armband and a third between on a protruding tabOn the reverse side.
