When first in use it was number 35. It was sold to the State Electricity Commission of Victoria and became number 40 in 1951. Ballarat Tramway Museum purchased the tram in 1971. It was the last tram to run when it ran from Sebastopol to the depot on 19 September 1971. It was sold to the State Electricity Commission in 1951 for use on the Ballarat tramway system. The tram was altered to its present form in 1953 to permit one-man operation. It was modified to operate as a one man tram but limited use due to industrial bans. A conductor was used in Ballarat. In 1954 the tram was decorated for the visit of Queen Elizabeth II. The location is the new tram Burwood tram terminus in Norwood Road (later Toorak Road) at Boundary Road (later Warrigal Road). The caption's reference to East Burwood is incorrect - an error possibly made by the writer of the caption who glued the photo and caption to the blue paper. East Burwood was the name of the line between 1978 and 2005. In 1916 the new Burwood line beyond Camberwell Junction was mostly single track with many passing loops.
