Specification No. 100, revised 1/10/1919. On the printed cover, which has three holes for a clip on the left hand side, printed with the Birney Safety Car trade mark, the names of the J. G. Brill associated companies (American Car Company of St. Louis, G. C. Kuhlman Car Co. of Cleveland Ohio, and Wason Manufacturing Company of Springfield, Massachusetts). On the inside of the front cover and on the outer back cover is the Brill logo. In 1933 tenders were called for contractors to build a house in Campbelltown, opposite the Campbelltown Hotel (now known as the Black Duck). This was to be the residence of John Neil and Annie Elizabeth Maxwell, who were to live at the 1766 Creswick-Newstead Road, and where Neil Yager Maxwell was to be born in 1936. This copy of the specifications was retained by the Maxwell family, who also listed the timeline of the property (building commenced April 24th 1933, house completed June 21st 1933, moved into dwelling Tuesday June 27th 1933) according to A.E. Yager who also listed those who worked on the site. Bob Hymans Collection Bob (Herman) Hymans (a former member of the Royal Netherlands Navy was born in Bloemendaal, Holland on 30th September 1922. During World War II he fought against the Japanese in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and was imprisoned in Changi and on the Burma Railway. After gaining qualifications as a Ski Instructor, Bob arrived in Falls Creek in May 1950. Working as an Instructor and Supervisor at Bogong Lodge, Bob decided his future was in accommodation. He was successful in negotiating an indenture for land from the State Electricity Commission (SEC). It took Bob two years to build his Grande Coeur Chalet but, tragically, it was burned down in August 1961. Bob also built the first Chairlift in Australia. This was a single chairlift and the structure was built from wooden electricity poles. He was constantly full of new ideas and proposals for the village. Bob Hymans died on 7th July 2007.
