Handwritten note from Chris Jacobson on Metropolitan Transit Authority of Victoria memo paper forwarding a copy to Warren Doubleday of the BTPS in Feb. 1988, with date received stamp at depot of 19/2/1988. 2. Photocopy of a memo on Metropolitan Transit letterhead from K. C. Painter dated 20/7/1987 to the Civil Engineering Design drafting staff forwarding a copy of the 1928 lectures to the then current staff. 3. Photocopy of a circular from J.P. Strickland, Chief Engineer to track inspectors, sub overseers, overseers and senior gangers advising that a series of weekly lectures on track work would be held at Hawthorn Depot commencing 23/1/1928. 4. The document looks at the costs of operating trams including reconstruction, trolley-buses, and petrol buses in Ballarat. Dated 7/10/1932. Considers the costs of tramway reconstruction - the minimal work needed (88500 pounds), current ESCo traffic expenses and income, cost of a trolley bus system including 25 buses and road pavement (100,450 pounds) and 25 petrol buses including costs of scrapping the existing per way and overhead (64,450 pounds). Concluded that reinstatement of the system along the lines of that of Bendigo was the best option. Contract No 52 - Specification of materials to be supplied, and works to be performed, in the construction of the Hawthorn Tramway. The contract embraces the excavation, laying down of permanent way, metalling, paving, and every detail complete as shown in the drawings. The contract commences at the Hawthorn Terminus of the Richmond Cable Tramway and extends along Burwood Road, Power Street, Riversdale Road and terminates at Glenferrie Road.
