All 5 Australian Divisions took part in the major Allied attack on the German Lines - the first time the five Australian Divisions had fought together as the Australian Corps. The instrument was 93 years old and hadn't been played for more than eighty years. An audience of 500 were entertained with pieces by Schubert and Bach for the first half of the program and Waltzes, Mazurkas, and Polonaises by Chopin after the interval. A feature of the show is Lola's celebrated Spider Dance which was acknowledged many years ago by the crowd throwing gold nuggets onto the stage. Presented by the Hugh Williamson Foundation in association with the Begonia Festival organizers the performance was at Her Majesty's Theatre, Ballarat nightly from 12th-15th March at 8pm with a matinee at 2pm on the 15th. Timor was the target for the night of 6 July, when Flight Lieutenant "Bunny" Austin (A16-207) led five Hudsons to bomb Koepang town. The next night he led back seven aircraft against the airfield at Penfoei, attacking before dawn on the 8th prior to United States Liberators bombing the runways and barracks. 75 Austin's aircraft was caught by Penfoei's master defensive searchlight, and Austin used violent evasion and switching on and off of his IFF equipment, a tactic used in Europe. The radar-controlled searchlights went out.
