Fancy Dress Ball in the Carrum Mechanics Institute Hall. The hall was built about 1910. In the photograph you can see the gas lighting pipes, the gas was generated in a shed at the rear of the hall. On the left of the door on the rear wall, there is a hole which was used to show silent black and white movies.
