Historical information
The Emerald Golf Club began as the iconic Emerald Country Club which was set up as a country resort for the wealthy in the late 1920s. Following a period of financial difficulties and change of ownership it was renamed the Emerald Golf and Country Resort in the 1990s. It then operated for several years before winding up. Former members and a new manager re-established the club as the Emerald Golf Club in 2001, but that finally closed in 2017. This pennant flag relates to the Club's success in the Mountain District of the Mornington Peninsula District Golf Association Australia (MPDGAA) competition in 1988.
