Two copies of a pamphlet for the ceremony of the Third Ordnance Services Unit ‘Exercising the Right of the Freedom of Entry to the City of Caulfield’ held on 23/10/1983. The pamphlet includes a brief history of the unit’s association with the City of Caulfield, a list of individuals holding posts within the Unit, text of the scroll conferring the Freedom of Entry on the Unit, a program of the ceremony, a brief history of the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps including the Unit’s use of 75 Kooyong Road as their premises, a brief history of the City of Caulfield from 1937-postwar years, and an explanation of the tradition of conferring Freedom of Entry to a city. This file contains three items about the visit of Prince George Duke of Cornwall and York (later Prince of Wales, later Geroge V) to Victoria in 1901: 1/A book ‘Addresses to (His Royal Highness) HRH The Duke of Cornwall and York and to His Excellency the Governor-General the Earl of Hopetown from the Municipalities of Victoria' containing copies of the addresses from the municipalities to George and the Governor-General on the inauguration of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the replies of George and the Governor General. The book also contains individual cards on each municipality, including the Shire of Caulfield. The business of the meeting is outlined and those who are contributing to the meeting are named, including guest speaker The Honourable David White, Minister for Health. 2/Two copies of the Monash Medical Centre Annual Report 1986–87. The Annual Report outlines how the creation of the Monash Medical Centre involved the incorporation of three existing hospitals, including the Moorabbin Hospital.
