Legacy have many programs to send young junior legatees on activities, camps and outings. The photo shows a junior legatee, Declan Deasy with a sack on his shoulder. It was used in an newspaper article in 1990. It said Declan was going to be part of a pilgrimage to Gallipoli to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Anzac landing with surviving veterans. He was the Junior Legatee chosen as Victorian Representative for the trip. The Federal Government-funded $1 million 11-day trip included a dawn service on Anzac Day. It was stored with other photos of Junior Legatees at camps from the 1980s and 1990s. Melbourne Legacy would hold Christmas parties for junior Legatees at Government House for many years due to the Governor of Victoria being patron of Legacy. The children are wearing Legacy tags. The year is 1963. One of the photos appeared in a newspaper article about Legacy in 1965 (see item 01237). Photo of a girl that lived at Holmbush dressed for her wedding. The bridesmaid may also be a resident of Holmbush. The man in one photo is likely to be another resident. If this bride was the same as in the newspaper article that was in the album, it gives the name of the bride as Lexie Curtin and the bridesmaid as Nora Southern. The groom was Dr John Ferguson who was also a member of Legacy for some years. The wedding was held at St Patrick's Cathedral. Holmbush at 1267 Burke road, was one of the properties that Legacy used for Junior Legatees. It was purchased 1942. A newspaper article published in The Sun on 25 March 1988 as Legacy was preparing to celebrate the a Legacy reunion featuring Miss Enez Domec-Carre who was turning 80. Enez was the supervisor of the girls classes held at Legacy House for many years - 38 years according to this article. She organised many annual demonstrations and was held in high regard by Legacy. The library at Legacy House is named in her honour. See also a newspaper article at 00978 which outlines her achievements, a summary of her career at 00458 and 00129. She was a former Miss Victoria and was known for her physical education skills and for introducing grace and culture to Melbourne. In 1932 she joined Melbourne Legacy as assistant to Mrs Gilles (wife of a Legatee) later became the chief instructor of girls' physical education until she retired aged 65. In the post World War II baby boom the Legacy evening classes were attended by about 400 girls. She helped organise Legacy Widows and Legatee wives to sew the costumes for performances. Among her proudest moments was a display by 1000 Junior Legatees at the MCG during the 1954 visit of Queen Elizabeth II. Local newspaper article, 10 January, 1991 by Carolyn Deed, reporting buildings at the school's country retreat at Gooram, south of Euroa, were burnt to the ground when a blaze swept through the area. Norwood High School principal, Mr Ian McPharlan, rushed to the site as soon as he heard the news that fires had hit the area and arrived to find only charred remains of what had been the result of 20 years of hard labor from the school and community.

Soon after the flooding of the mine commenced in June 1910, tributers worked the upper levels. By 1913 the Company found it was uneconomic to allow tributers to continue working in the upper levels. ' Hunter was working at No 16 level at a depth of 1270 feet from the surface and about 500 feet south from the shaft when a large piece of stone , estimated to wrigh about one ton, broke away.
