The Winton Tourist Promotion Association (W.T.P.A.) was formed in October 1967, and because of the connection to Banjo Paterson and Waltzing Matilda, it wanted to encourage the writing of traditional Australian verse that was made so popular by A.B. This book was published in 2017 to mark the centenary of the Warrnambool sub branch of the Returned Services League of Australia. It was produced by Avis Quarrell herself a world war 2 servicewoman and well known in the Warrnambool district for her photography, historical writing and involvement with Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village. The Warrnambool R.S.L. was established in 1917 and the War Memorial was erected in 1926. The Warrnambool R.S.L. is one of the oldest in Australia and this book records its history at the time of its centenary.This is a soft cover book of 100 pages . Mr Sidney (Sydney) Wainwright's father was established in the boot and shoe manufacturing business from 1877 in partnership with Shaddock and then Faulkner in Liebig Street, Warrnambool. Duirs and Warrell (62-64 Liebig Street) was prominent in Warrnambool for many years. The business had the name of Duirs and Warrell for nearly 90 years but the store was first established by William Jamieson in 1857. It was then acquired by J.C.A. Kruger before being taken over by James Duirs in partnership with Warrell. The liquor licence of Duirs an Warrell passed to Dickins Supermarket and the shop closed in 1971.These are important labels as the firm Duirs and Warrell was prominent in Warrnambool for many years .1 White label with three straight sides and a curved top.
