This file contains two items: 1/Eight original hand drawn cartoons on card or paper for the CAULFIELD CONTACT. The cartoons cover various topics including cat control, elections, renovations, transport and brewery. Some illustrations have hand written titles, captions, suggested page numbers in the newspaper and percentages. One cartoon is dated 1978, the rest are undated. Archivist Nancy U'REN was employed by Port Council in 1982 when they needed to remove old documents for Town Hall renovation. This coincided with the writing of "A History of Port Melbourne" by Noel TURNBULL. The town is a notable stop for interstate truck drivers due to a sharp bend requiring them to slow down, leading to a gathering spot outside the hotel.
