Historical information
This book records the first public meeting on 24.10.1917 to build a Soldiers memorial in Kangaroo Flat held in the Odd Fellows Hall. On the night a Committee is formed with the following: President E.G. Yeates, Vice President G Frost, Secretary R Coutts, Treasurer M Hannan, 14 other Committee members were elected. The first full meeting of the Committee was held on 5.11.1917. One of the main items was to chose a boundary for inclusion on the Memorial. The entries continue till 18.6.1919. A last entry is dated 19.2.1930 relates to a new Committee and handing over the minutes and funds.
At the rear of the book are 3 pages in ink re addresses of former residents. the last page in pencil is a list of entries re names & fund amount ranging from 2/- to 1 pound 1/- (shillings)
Physical description
Minute book dark hard covers with red cloth binding tape, white paper, ruled blue lines, entries in black pen, a small few in pencil. a small newspaper notice re a meeting in 190 is stapled at the top of one page.
