Artist’s Statement: "Settled Figures I is forged by land and climate. Settled Figures I continues on from sculpture first begun in 1990. I set myself a task then of developing figurative work which clearly came from this place, both visually and a conceptually.
These works have many influences, from the landscape, and from sculptural sources in Europe. Often hybrid in nature, elements from both pre- and post- European arrival influence the forms."
