A badly worn brown and blue marbled style coloured covered Nature Study Exercise book for student use in schools. There is a white rectangular sticker with a decorative green and brown border pasted in the middle of the front cover with the title, and a Name and Class line with the student's details added in ink and pencil. It is stapled at the spine with green tape binding it together. The book is filled with different Nature Study topics such as Roots,The Vine Moth, The Violet and others, all handwritten in grey pencil. The first page is filled with pencilled columns of numbers counting by fives 5 - 690. The title page has full publishing details, with many student's arithmetical workings in black ink and grey pencil as well as the name of the student. Inside the front and back covers are many workings out of sums. Exercise books were used by students in all Australian schools for class work and for homework. This may have been a homework book. It has had many pages removed and is quite thin. On a page at the back of the book there are three stamps with the date - Oct 10 1915 and one with Oct 12 1915. Seven books were donated by the Burgi family. Louis Kolling B: 1904, Clifton Hill - D: 1984. Louis was the son of Louis and Mary Ellen Kolling who married in 1892 nee Burgi.A black covered school exercise book with arithmetic, spelling, grammar handwritten in black ink. The letters LK are written inside the front cover, with the back cover having sums and sentences written.On the inside of the front cover the letters 'LK' are handwritten elaborately.
