Significance

These notes are based on a report prepared for the Board re the donation of materials collected by Wal Jack and donated to the BTM in 2011. The following notes are general across the collection unless written for a specific Ballarat item.



Has proven association with Wal Jack and tramway developments within Australasia until 1964 and given their extent particular significance.



Features NSW Sydney and Newcastle System tramcars.

Physical description

Black loose folders holding some 49 black coloured sheets of light card on which photos have been mounted using photo corners of various types, captions in white ink. Some 241 black and white photographs of trams in Sydney and Newcastle. Includes works cars, horse trams, some depots and location and coloured postcards. Contains a newspaper clipping titled "Tram Dive in Harbor: Four hurt", from the Sydney Sun newspaper dated 21/7/1952.
