The Lady Nell Seeing Eye Dog School was founded at Wonga Park in April 1960. This plaque commemorates the official opening by Hon. T.W. A booklet promoting the work of the Lady Nell 'seeing eye' dog school from 1977. The school at the time was the only original 'seeing eye' dog school in Victoria, which was registered with the Hospitals and Charities Commission and was financially assisted by the Victorian State Government.
