The Dandenongs was, and continues to be, a popular, scenic destination for weekend tourists from Melbourne. This is one of five photographs located at or close to Clematis Station and taken on a hiking excursion in 1948 by two young Melbourne couples. This photograph shows two of the hikers, Gordon Scambler and Hazel Edlerfield, walking along a road near the railway station. Gordon is carrying a billy.
