The Dandenongs was, and continues to be, a popular, scenic destination for weekend tourists from Melbourne. This is one of five photographs located at or close to Clematis Station and taken on a hiking excursion in 1948 by two young Melbourne couples. This photograph shows one of the hikers, Keith Easterbrook, holding the shoe of his friend, Gordon Scambler. Gordon had removed his shoe because he had developed blisters on their walk.
Significance
This photograph is of a hiker taking a break at the local Clematis Railway Station. It has a date and a story attached.
