Tram 27 was built in 1916 by Duncan and Fraser, Adelaide for Hawthorn Tramways Trust. It came to Ballarat in 1930 and became part of the fleet of the State Electricity Commission. When the trams ceased running in 1971, it was obtained by the Tramway Museum Society of Victoria. Ballarat Tram 35 is a maximum traction truck bogie - eight wheels, with drop end and centre combination. It was built in 1916 by Duncan and Fraser for the Hawthorn Tramways Trust. It came to Ballarat in 1947. In 1974 the body went to Ballarat and Clarendon College. Returned to Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society in 1978. Ballarat Tram 26 was built in 1916 by Duncan and Fraser for the Hawthorn Tramways Trust. It came to Ballarat in 1930 and was part of the SEC's consolidated tramcar fleet. In 1971 it transferred to the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society. Tram 39 was built in 1914 by Duncan and Fraser for the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust. It came to Ballarat in 1951 and was part of the SEC's consolidated tramcar fleet. It was converted to a static museum display and souvenir shop. In 1971 it went to the Lions Club of Lismore. Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society acquired it in 1976. (See No. 10755 for a series of 16 photographs of the return of tram 39 to Ballarat. Tram 26 was built in 1916 by Duncan and Fraser, Adelaide for Hawthorn Tramways Trust and was known as Tram No.6. It was renumbered by Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramway Board in 1920 . It became No.111. In 1930 it was sold to the Electric Supply Company of Victoria and numbered 26. In 1934 it passed to the SEC. It is a standard Californian combination - drop ends. The tram is still in the Ballarat Tramway fleet and runs during the Summer. The photograph shows two trams in Drummond Street at the Urquhart Street Loop. Information on the back shows the photo was taken about 8.15 in the morning. The trams travel down Grey Street Sebastopol, up Victoria Street and then Lydiard Street North. Tram 26 was built in 1916 by Duncan and Fraser, Adelaide for Hawthorn Tramways Trust and was known as Tram No.6. It was renumbered by Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramway Board in 1920 . The photograph shows Ballarat tram 26 in Sturt Street just down from Lydiard Street. Photo taken in January 1971 by Campbell Duncan. The buildings on the corner are the Commonwealth Bank and Allen's Music. This tram was built in 1916 by Duncan and Fraser for the Hawthorn Tramways Trust where it was No.5. Ballarat Tram 19 was built in 1916 by Meadowbank Manufacturing Co in Sydney for the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust. It came to Ballarat in 1931 and then transferred to Bendigo in 1960. It was renumbered and became second car No 7. Bendigo had a No 19 car that was built in 1916 by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide. It was originally built for Hawthorn Tramways Trust. It was transferred to Bendigo in 1932 and in 1935 renumbered 12 in the fleet. Photograph shows a tram No 19 near Lake Weeroona in Bendigo. This document has been changed as a result of negotiations by Duncan and Fraser and the HTT, which have been initially by both parties. Contains completed tender forms, prices and some minor initialled alterations to the tender. The document is the HTT or Trusts copy of the tender and it has been signed by Duncan and Fraser and the HTT and on the rear sheet has the seal of the Trust. The postcard photograph shows PMTT No. 23 a Maximum Traction bogie, straight sill combination with drop end at the Malvern Burke Road terminus, c1916. See page 60 of Destination City 5th edition for details of the tram. Purchased by the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust, sold to the Hawthorn Tramways Trust during 1916, in 1920 absorbed by the MMTB and classed "O". They were sold to Adelaide in 1927. There is a large "1" in the front window, indicating the route number and the destination of Burke Road. Photograph shows Hawthorn Tramways Trust bogie Tram 15 at Glenferrie and Riversdale Roads 1916-1920. The tram body was built by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide and entered service during April 1916. It was renumbered N class 121 by the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board following the absorption of the Trusts by the MMTB in 1920. The tram is eastbound in Riversdale Road. The tracks of the Prahran and Malvern Tramway Trust can be seen in front of the tram. The conductor has alighted from the tram and walked forward to check for trams on Glenferrie Road. A Fire Brigade street fire alarm can be seen on the corner. The existing connecting curves at the corner were installed in 1925. The tramcar had a number of significant accidents and was disposed of in March 1938. Understood from the donor, that the house on the corner was known as "Pax" and demolished when commercial development of the corner occurred. The donor's family operated the Purvis Real Estate on the southeast corner from the building now known as Stotts Corner. Tram 37 was built by Duncan and Fraser , Adelaide, in 1916 for the Hawthorn Tramways Trust. It came to Ballarat in 1960 and was in service until the trams in Ballarat stopped in 1971. It was a Bogie drop end and centre open combination tram. In 1971 it went to South Pacific Electric Railway/Sydney Tramway Museum.
