Peterborough History Collection (2012)

Peterborough is one of the Shipwreck Coast's iconic small towns. Famous fateful ship's wrecked off the area's rugged coastline include the 'Schomberg' (1855), 'Young Australian' (1877), 'Newfield' (1892), 'Falls of Halladale" (1908) and 'Antares" (1914). The town was settled on the banks of the Curdies River, home of the Kirrae Whurung People. It then became an early pastoral settlement and one of Victoria's first sea-side holiday destinations. The collection will showcase this rich history
