Mail in Focus section - The Mail. Wednesday April 4, 1990. The school's high profile music program has run successfully for 10 years since Mr Neil Berry, who taught students to play brass instruments, started the first concert band. Further advancements were made under former classroom teachers, Judith Curphey, who is National Artistic Director of the Australian Girls' Choir and Jan Constable, organiser of the Melbourne Youth Music Council. Annual band tours, enjoyed by the students, also help the music department's excellent retention rate.
