This short history deals with the need for a high school at Bedford Park, which satisfied the need for a large piece of land for buildings and sporting facilities, the installation of Mr Bennett as headmaster, the growth of the student population, the retirement of Mr Bennett and the appointment of Mr Ormandy as headmaster. American Field Service Exchange Scholarships were instituted and a Cadet Corps started up. The construction of the Assembly Hall and the Physical Education Centre was initiated under Mr Ormandy and finished under his replacemnt, Mr Hodge. A new Science block was completed in 1969.
