Classes at Maroondah Secondary College were disrupted last Wednesday when about 50% of staff attended a city protest against the Kennett Government's first year in office. Years 9, 10 and 11 students were forced to stay home because of the stopwork organised by the Trades Hall Council. Other colleges in the Ringwood area that were affected are Heathmont, Norwood and Parkwood and also Croydon Community School. The teachers were protesting at the rate and number of changes that the Government has imposed on the Secondary College sector, and the lack of information concerning future changes.
