Historical information

The Sunshine RSL Memorial Bowling Club emerged as the bowls arm of the Sunshine Returned Services League, functioning as a social, recreational, and commemorative space for veterans and the wider Sunshine community.

Unlike the original Sunshine Bowling Club in the McKay Gardens, the RSL club developed post‑WWII, reflecting the growth of Sunshine’s veteran community and the expansion of the RSL’s social facilities.

The club’s biggest on‑field success has been its long-term involvement in pennant bowls, the main competitive format in Victoria.

Over the decades the club has been successful in winning a number of premiership flags.
