Historical information

These photographs, taken by The Advocate in 1999, show the abandoned Stevens Farmhouse at 446–448 Main Road West, St Albans.

Significance

The Stevens Farmhouse in St Albans was one of the earliest European farming properties in the district, dating from the 1870s–1880s, and is historically tied to the Stevens family, early settlers who farmed land north of Main Road East before suburban subdivision transformed the area.

Today the old farmhouse has been demolished and the farm turned into residential housing.
