Historical information

Quang Minh Temple began in the early 1980s as a small Vietnamese Buddhist community in Richmond and Footscray.

After several relocations, it settled permanently in Burke Street, Braybrook in 1989, with its main hall being completed in 1994.

It is now the headquarters of the United Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation of Victoria and one of the largest Vietnamese Buddhist temples in Australia.

Significance

These are very early photographs of the new Quang Minh Buddhist Temple after it relocated to this site in 1989.
