Historical information
These photographs, taken by The Sunshine Advocate in 1998, show Frank Ford (centre), President of the Sunshine and District Historical Society, after receiving a cash grant from the Australian Council of Archives.
The funding enabled the purchase of 30 acid‑free storage boxes for the Society’s Sunshine Technical School Collection.
Significance
The Sunshine Technical School Collection is one of the Society’s most significant holdings. Spanning the full life of the school from 1913 to 1991, it includes examination results, rolls, administrative documents, and class photographs, preserving a continuous record of the institution’s history and its role in the community.
