The Sunshine Croquet Club was one of the earliest formal women’s sporting clubs in Sunshine, established in 1959 and was closely tied to the social life of the H.V. McKay industrial township.
The Croquet Club provided structured recreation for women in a suburb otherwise dominated by male sport.
