Historical information

These photographs, taken by The Advocate in 2000, formed part of a special series documenting the route of the 2000 Olympic Torch Relay through Deer Park, Ardeer, Sunshine, Braybrook and Maidstone.

The images feature Blue Trio, a public artwork installed as part of Brimbank City Council's public art program.

Created by Ian Sinclair and Jackie Staude, Blue Trio comprises three interconnected sculptural forms. The work explores themes of harmony, balance and reflection, with its distinctive blue colour reinforcing these ideas while creating a striking landmark within the local landscape.

Significance

As a public art project commissioned by Brimbank City Council, the work contributed to the visual character and cultural identity of the municipality.
