These photographs, taken by The Advocate in 1991, were published to mark the eighth anniversary of Sunshine Plaza, which officially opened on 5 October 1983. The shopping centre entered receivership in 1989 and was subsequently acquired by Pacific Shopping Centres, the owners at the time these photographs were taken.

The images feature staff members of Temptation Boutique, located in Shop 32 Sunshine Plaza, Hampshire Road, Sunshine. Having opened only three weeks earlier, the boutique was one of the plaza’s newest retailers and reflected the continued growth and renewal of the shopping centre following its change in ownership.

The store is owned and managed by Frank Simeone and his business partners, who were responsible for establishing and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the boutique. As a recent addition to the plaza, Temptation Boutique contributed to the diverse range of specialty retailers serving shoppers in Sunshine during the early 1990s.
