Historical information
These photographs, taken by The Advocate in 1999, feature the damaged to Thea Dukic's St. Albans Community Youth Centre mural.
Originally, the mural was installed on the exterior wall of the St Albans Community Youth Centre, facing Main Road East, where it served as a prominent public artwork and community landmark. Over time, however, the mural was subjected to repeated acts of vandalism, resulting in significant damage.
To ensure its long-term preservation, the mural was eventually relocated to the interior of the centre, where it could be protected while continuing to be appreciated by visitors and members of the community.
