Historical information
These photographs, taken by The Advocate newspaper in 2000, show the City of Brimbank Municipal Offices, formerly the administrative building of the City of Sunshine.
In 2016, Brimbank relocated its civic operations to the newly constructed Brimbank Community and Civic Centre on Hampshire Road, Sunshine.
Subsequently, the site was sold to private developers and remained vacant for many years. During this prolonged period, the building was repeatedly vandalised, and several fires were lit inside. Ultimately, the City of Brimbank issued the developer with a demolition notice.
Fortunately, the stained‑glass feature façade was preserved and is currently held in storage by Council.
