Historical information

These photographs, taken by The Advocate in 1992, record a quirky winter promotion at the Sunshine Swimming Pool, where trout were released into the cool, clean water and locals were invited to try their luck at fishing.

The activity continued throughout the winter months, turning the pool into an unexpected seasonal angling spot.
