The Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Paraskevi, Saint Barbara and Saint John the Merciful at 22 Marsden Crescent, St Albans, was established to serve the growing Greek Orthodox population of Melbourne's western suburbs. The present church building was completed in 1991, with the foundation stone laid on 28 April 1991 by Archbishop Stylianos, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia. Dedicated to Saints Paraskevi, Barbara and John the Merciful, the parish has become an important religious, cultural and social centre for the local Greek community, providing worship services, education programs and community activities that help preserve Greek Orthodox faith and heritage.

Significance

The Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Paraskevi, Saint Barbara and Saint John the Merciful is significant to St Albans because it reflects the suburb's long-standing role as one of Melbourne's major centres of Greek settlement and multicultural community life.
