Historical information

The Sunshine Fire Station at 30 McIntyre Road, Sunshine North (MFB Station 44) officially opened on 14th May 1990, replacing the earlier Hampshire Road / Hertford Road station that had served the district since 1927.

Significance

The Sunshine Fire Station’s Open Day was held on the 7th October 1990, the same year the new McIntyre Road station opened. Many of Sunshine's and nearby suburbs residents attended the action packed day.
